Tabasco & Honey Chicken Wings

The next New Year's Eve appetizer idea I'd like to share with you is for these Tabasco & Honey Chicken Wings. I first posted this back in February 2012 under the 10 Must Have Foods for Superbowl

Again, another one of my themed posts where a good recipe got mixed in and never had a chance to shine on it's own. I do have to say the picture isn't stellar, but the flavor certainly makes up for any lack of photography skills I had in the beginning! These wings would make a tasty appetizer for any time of the year, but they are a favorite on New Year's Eve and any football Sunday. ~Enjoy!

Tabasco & Honey Chicken Wings

Prep Time: 15 minutes  Cook Time: 30 minutes   Yield: 24 wingettes  Serves: 4-6
Ingredients
  • 12 Chicken Wings, cut in half (wingette/drumette sections)
  • 1/2 c. Canola Oil
  • 6 tbsp. Butter
  • 1/2 tbsp. Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp. Tabasco Sauce
  • 1 tbsp. Honey
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large frying pan, heat oil over medium heat; then brown chicken evenly on both sides until chicken is cooked through; approximately 10-15 minutes.
  3. Remove the chicken and place in a bowl.
  4. While the chicken is frying, melt butter along with the garlic powder, tabasco and honey in a small saucepan over low heat.
  5. Add this mixture to the chicken and toss well to coat all of the pieces and place in a baking dish.
  6. Bake 15-20 minutes until the chicken turns golden brown.
