I LOVE Christmas time. But not for the reasons you may think. I actually could care less if I receive anything and most times, I really don't want anything either. I'd rather spend that money during the year enjoying nice dinners out with my hubby and family or buying things we would like to have in our home. I'm not a big shopper and hate the malls...yes, I live in the mall capital of the world and hate to go there. The crowds and rudeness of others just leaves a bad taste in my mouth and this time of year is even worse. However, I do love to give gifts. I love to see the look on someones face when they realize I actually took the time to really know them and know what they would like and surprise them with it. To me, that's the magic of Christmas. 


As I was thinking about what it is that I could do for my next giveaway, I remembered that every year around this time Oprah would do a show of her favorite things and give those gifts to her audience. Since I worked full time prior to her going off the air, I only saw a handful of those episodes over the years, but I did remember how excited the audience got and the joy on her face as she was able to give those gifts away. So, this year I have decided to give one lucky winner a basket full of some of my favorite things. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Chanukah or Kwanzaa, everyone could use new kitchen gadgets. I picked red not because it's one of the colors of Christmas, but rather for the love you have all shown me since starting this blog. It truly warms my heart.  

Carrie's Favorite Things

Kitchen Aid 3.5 Cup Food Chopper-I love my food chopper and have had it for 15 years. In fact, I used to make baby food for both of my girls with it (no meat in a jar here!)


Kitchen Aid Grater-I use my grater all of the time and prefer the wider version. It's much easier when zesting lemons and limes and this one comes with a container too. 


Kitchen Aid Kitchen Shears-No kitchen is complete without kitchen shears.


Kitchen Aid Measuring Spoons-When I cook, I don't measure a thing! So when I started this blog, I needed to start. This set of 5 spoons makes measuring so easy.


Kitchen District by Architec Cutting Board-This 11" x 14" non-slip board is great to use for poultry so that you can distinguish this board from the rest to reduce cross contamination. And, it is dishwasher safe!


3-Piece Kitchen Set-This set includes 2 potholders and 1 oven mitt. I can't tell you how many times I've burned myself in the kitchen over the years but I do remember how I got each scar. If only I used these potholders instead of a dish towel!
